........why does Spock's pon farr pass? After all, he did not mate with anyone?
That is a wild diatribe there, Mike D.
In the Voyager episode "Blood Fever" (season 3) they say there are three ways to pass the Pon Farr: 1) Searching a mate ("Koon"); 2) Fighting ("Kal-if-fee"); 3) Meditating intensely (requires high mental discipline).
In that case, Spock passed the Pon Farr with the Kal-if-fee ritual
